Here Is What I Live For

Due to distance, and how busy I am all the time, I often do not get to personally hand my mats out to the homeless. What happens is other people come get my mats and hand them out to the homeless at an event or something and send me back the pictures and videos.

Below is a video that was taken at a homeless event in Goshen, Indiana. This is what I live for. This is why we do what we do. Help the homeless. What we do is NOT a solution, its an INTERVENTION.

  1. Reblogged this on Fat Beggars School of Prophets and commented:
I have to admit, this is an ingenious use of trash. Quite a bang for the buck. Now if we can just get our church house door open, with these mats the poor can bring their beds with them and take refuge in Jesus.

    • Thank you! The churches here dont open their doors either, but they do save bags for me and bring me other stuff like NEW hats, scarves, gloves, toiletries, coats and socks. This blog is just getting started. So much has happened in the past 3-4 years. I’ve upcycled over 1 million bags and weaved over 555 mats & pillows.

  2. Cool.

I have seen videos on making these mats before. Kinda want to make one myself, just to try it. I think they are cool as all get out, and I absolutely LOVE both the recycle aspect AND the use of cheap materials.

I am not, at the moment prepared to make one, but perhaps soon I will try.

    • I plan to eventually put a pdf on here on how to make my loom and there will be video tutorials on how to weave a mat step by step on this blog. I’m still getting used to wordpress. By the way, I am LOVING your blog. I’m still reading through it as we speak.
